be at work / be inspired

A week in the life.

The weekend.  Thank fecker.  And a surprise early finish from work on a Saturday has turned my house upside down… spare hours in a day??  I had to do it.  I had to tackle the house.  I had no excuses.  So I made Mr D help me clean.. Hurrah!! It’s a tough task.  For anyone, I know, the thought of mass housework is pretty cruddy, but for him? His big nightmare.
But we double-teamed it {I was the captain, obviously} and we won. {applaud}.
It was a tough game, so we broke it up with the odd dance to a w-day song if one came on. {Like this one…..

Johnny Flynn ~ The Box … & this one..

K.C. and the Sunshine Band ~ Boogie Shoes…}

It’s been housework of funs. {And then I napped.. like always. Oops} Now he is off to work, and I am left to ponder my week.. and think about the next..

It’s been a busy one…
We tried our wee hands at guest blogging this week.  On a rather lovely wedding blog.  Which made me merry {for a Monday morning}.  Yay for us.  We are now going to be doing a monthly Monday Moodboard of inspiration and pretty things, in our own Be way, as guests!!
Julys was this..

Peach and Grey!! A favourite.
See the full post over on Alice in Weddingland. {It’s nice over there…a blog full of ideas and unique suppliers.. gander.}

Also this week, we had a rather lovely visit to this venue… {its swoony by the way.. SWOONY}..

Kirknewton Stables..
A gorgeous, rustic wedding venue.. with barn-style space, HUGE big gardens and a kitchen for those {like us!} who want to do it all themselves.. food included!
This was the first time we, as in Be, had been to Kirknewton and we were in love with it as soon as we got off the train {it was yon sunny Tuesday, so we were pretty happy people that day}.  Located on the outskirts of a lovely LOVELY little village, 30 minutes outside Edinburgh, Kirknewton Stables is DIY-wedding-perfect. And the owner is the loveliest man!
{Be can’t wait to spend the day there next week….. We love our job, we do.}

On the blog, we had one of our most lovely weddings so far…….
Emily and Adams beautiful, vintage day in a barn of lights and pretty details {and clocks.. amazing clocks..}

Such a lovely couple!! And having a bambino too!! More congratulations for Emily and Adam, from us!!

Thanks to our American buddy ol’ pal, Tahni at Joyeuse Photography for sending us those amazing pictures… AND {oooooh this is too good and I truly hope one of our Be readers gets this..}, she put on an amazing photography offer..

… honestly, the gurls good.  Get over to her website for a good rummage.. and if your interested.. Be in touch!! We’ll help organise the whole shebang.  With pleasure.

We chatted Groom Style too this week, in all it’s vintage-y loveliness. Pondered Mr Ds choices and ogled some man-type-wedding-costumes to swoon for.  Bow ties and kilts and tweed, oh my.

During all of this, we worked, I started a wee course {and a new notebook}, we chatted wedding {ours too}, we met brides {and a groom}, we packed some vintage china for a pick-up {and bought a new tea pot}, the sister got a delivery of new wares and I started crafting for our shoot next week {oohh I hear you say}, we had meetings with each other on a train, I made my house shiney {hurrah!!}, and our lovely Mum came back from Canada {phew!! We missed her this month}.

A good week has been had..

Here’s to another.

Love Claire x
